Leveraging the convenience of a mobile app and the dynamic, playful appeal of rubber hose style graphics, Gatcha Eats transforms a typically tedious and annoying issue into an engaging, straightforward experience. This app artfully blends fun, simplicity, and practicality to address a commonly frustrating problem.
More often then not, when deciding what to eat with friends, the response of indecisiveness is common sight.
Despite all the information that's at the tips of our fingers, finding a place to eat with friends seems to be difficult at times.
There are a few apps that aim to tackle this problem. However, most of them rely on social engagement and account creation to use the app.
Drawing inspiration from the randomizer function of Japanese gashapon machines, I aimed to incorporate their element of surprise and playful nature into the app design.
The goal was to emulate the excitement of receiving a random result, enhancing the user's experience with a touch of fun and unpredictability.
To achieve a balance between easing decision paralysis and giving users a choice, simple yet comprehensive filters were crafted.
